Q: What about food trucks? @MayorAdler: "I would be assume food trucks would be allowed to stay open because that's a carry out service." But says seating outside food trucks should "go away."

Hospitality industry is second largest in the city, so this will have huge impact "which is why we need to focus on bringing about economic relief at the same time we're focused on public health."

First responders are monitoring their temperatures before work and during work so at the first time of illness, they get pulled. "If we know there's an exposure, they'll get pulled before that."

Q: Call 3-1-1 if you see violations on gatherings? @MayorAdler: Rules are rules and are enforceable by fines. Says yes, "The city and the region would like to know."
Q: How will restrictions on gatherings be enforced? @MayorAdler: Our first level of enforcement is "personal responsibility." "Beyond that, we have the same kind of code enforcement staff that enforce our rules and our laws and our ordinances." Will look at whether to augment
Question from @AKMcGlinchy: Why did you tell people to frequent bars and restaurants a week ago? @MayorAdler: We took the video down. Says he didn't know then what he knows now. Asks "Millennials" to stop going out. Says even if you don't have symptoms, you can transmit the virus
The City of Austin is closing bars. Restaurants may be open for pick-up only. Dine in service will be prohibited. Gatherings of people of more than 10 are banned, both indoor and outdoor, except govt buildings, schools/colleges, grocery stores/pharmacies.

"We are focused on doing everything we need recognizing that workers need to replace income and businesses need help weathering the storm so we're all positioned well for when this passes. [...] We don't have all the answers now, but we are searching for those."

"We are going to have restaurants that have never done carryout before now opening themselves up for carryout and delivery." Recommends giving big tips.

"Avoid non-essential travel. Call your doctor if you feel sick. Don't go to the emergency room." He says if you have no doc call CommUnityCare at 512-978-9015.

@GovAbbott: From the very start, the state of Texas expected the possibility of local spread of COVID-19

Call 2-1-1 for low or no-cost health care providers in your area

Texas is seeking waivers for school lunch program to give school districts flexibility to provide students food if districts need to shut down

Texas has 39 confirmed cases in several counties including Travis

I am declaring a state disaster for all counties in the state of Texas. This will lead to "many directives" from Governor's office. All available resources to respond to COVID-19. Reassign personnel. Prosecute price gouging. Restrict visitation at hospitals, etc

directing state agencies to take any action necessary to facilitate telemedicine, provide flexible telework for state employees

"There's absolutely no need to go out and stockpile supplies. [...] There will be plenty available."

GovAbbott: We made it through SARS. We made it through Ebola. We made it through H1N1. And we are going to make it through this one together as well.
